Psychogeography

I am currently reading Merlin Coverley’s book Psychogeography and Situationists and the city to get a taste of what other artists and walkers experience as they walk the streets

Below are some books and groups connected with artists, writers and others who walk the city and open spaces, brief but will be added to:

  • Arthur Rimbaud’s walk in London
  • Louis Aragon
  • Hamish Fulton, walking artist
  • The Situationists and the Lettrists groups in France
  • Walter Benjamin: The Arcades Project
  • Baudelaire – the flaneur
  • Iain Sinclair and his books about the mystery and history of London
  • Peter Ackroyd : London: the Biography to name one of many books about London
  • Rebecca Solnitt – Wanderlust
  • A Shout in the Street: Peter Jukes
  • City Gorged with Dreams: Ian Walker
  • Bleeding London : Geoff Nicholson who decided to walk the streets of London – he circumnavigated my area of N7 and visited Archway, Highbury, the Grand Union Canal and York Way
